Work on the construction of the gas pipeline
The Transit Gas Pipeline System [SGT] in the territory of the Republic of Poland is part of an approximately 4,000 km long gas pipeline running from Russia through Belarus and Poland to Western Europe.

The Polish section of the SGT is owned by the company named System Gazociągów Tranzytowych EuRoPol GAZ S.A. Based in Warsaw, whereas Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is the operator of the Polish section of the Yamal pipeline.

On 17 November 2010, the President of the Energy Regulatory Office issued a decision designating GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. as the operator of the Polish section of the Yamal pipeline until 31 December 2025. Under Article 7 of the Act of February 24, 2022 amending the Energy Law, the period was extended until December 6, 2068.

SGT route:
The transit gas pipeline in Poland runs from east to west from the Polish-Belarusian border near the village of Kondratki to the Polish-German border near the village of Górzyca.
The gas pipeline route crosses the following administrative units of the country:
  • 5 voivodeships (Podlaskie, Mazowieckie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Wielkopolskie and Lubuskie)
  • 27 counties
  • 69 municipalities.
