Gas pipeline construction
Key project parameters:

The investment is the fifth stage of the DN700 gas pipeline from Szczecin to Gdańsk, the previous sections of which were commissioned for construction in 2015.

Investment status:
  • investment during commissioning
  • the design phase was completed in 2017 with a building permit 
  • in the fourth quarter of 2021, construction works were completed and the Technical Acceptance was carried out
  • in the fourth quarter of 2021, the gas pipeline was commissioned and administrative decisions were obtained allowing for use and operation
  • the planned date of final commissioning and commissioning is March 2022

Location:

The project is located in Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship in the Goleniów and Gryfice districts, in the communes of: Goleniów, Osina, Nowogard, Płoty.

Benefits

The investment is one of the key projects implemented to strengthen national energy security, and its implementation will enable:
  • efficient gas transmission between Szczecin and Gdańsk
  • creating an element of a gas main connecting the markets of European countries in the Baltic Sea region
  • diversification of gas supplies to the Polish transmission system
  • making the areas more attractive for new investments
An important benefit for the local community will be the annual discharge by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. real estate tax in the amount of 2% of the value of the gas pipeline section located in a given commune. It will be an amount regularly contributing to the budget that can be allocated to the needs of local communities.

Contractors

  • A consortium formed by Biuro Projektów “NAFTA-GAZ” Sp. z o.o. and Górnicze Biuro Projektów “PANGAZ” Sp. z o.o. is the contractor responsible for the detailed engineering design of the project.
    On November 10, 2017, the design phase was completed and the building permit was obtained.
  • The contractor for the construction works in the years 2018-2020 was Rafako S.A. Racibórz. On December 15, 2020 the Contracting Entity withdrew from the Contract with Rafako S.A. for reasons entirely attributable to the Contractor.
  • The works were resumed with new Contractors at the beginning of May 2021. They are being carried out by POLDE and TSG Brudnik in respect of construction works and commissioning of the gas pipeline, and by Fotokart in respect of surveying and mapping services for the project.

Legal basis

The project is implemented on the basis of the provisions of the Act of 24 April 2009 on investments in regasification terminal for liquefied natural gas in Świnoujście (for consolidated text see Journal of Laws of 2021, item 1836).
