Damasławek – Mogilno

The Damasławek – Mogilno gas pipeline is part of a programme for the construction of the Damasławek Underground Gas Storage in the municipalities of Janowiec Wielkopolski and Żnin in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The gas pipeline will be routed in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, through the territories of the following municipalities: Żnin, Rogowo, Gąsawa, Mogilno.

Project route and location:
The gas pipeline will be routed in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, through the territories of the following municipalities: Żnin, Rogowo, Gąsawa, Mogilno.
- The development of new storage infrastructure, including the Damasławek – Mogilno gas pipeline, will create the possibility of storing gas in periods of low demand (summer) and using it when the demand is peaking, e.g. in winter.
- The project will improve the country's energy security and stimulate competition on the gas market. The construction of the UGS facility together with the Damasławek – Mogilno gas pipeline, will improve the condition of the natural environment and the quality of life by enabling the replacement of high-emission solid fuels with natural gas.
- The construction of the Damasławek Underground Gas Storage Facility and the Damasławek – Mogilno gas transmission pipeline will contribute to the increased investment attractiveness of the region, development of local businesses and creation of new jobs.
- GAZ-SYSTEM will pay property tax at the annual rate of 2% of the value of the transmission infrastructure to be located in the territory of each municipality. These funds will feed the municipality budget, and will be used for local community needs, such as the development of local infrastructure.
The project is implemented on the basis of the provisions of the Act of 27 January 2022 on the preparation and implementation of strategic investments in the oil sector (for consolidated text see Journal of Laws of 2022, item 483).
In October 2021, GAZ-SYSTEM held a series of consultation meetings in municipalities where the Damasławek- Mogilno gas pipeline is planned. The meetings were open to all interested parties. The purpose of the consultations was to provide information on the project and to collect feedback.
Under a special act regulating gas infrastructure projects, compensation payments are guaranteed to the owners of the land affected by the project development.
The compensation payment process is carried out in accordance with an administrative procedure, under the supervision of the competent Voivode. First, an independent expert is commissioned to carry out an assessment, which is the basis for determining the amount of compensation. Upon completion of the construction process, the Voivode issues an administrative decision specifying the amount of compensation due.
