Investment Projects
GAZ-SYSTEM is implementing a large-scale investment plan in response to the increasing demand for natural gas. The development of the transmission network, which includes the construction of numerous strategic facilities such as compressor stations and gas pipelines, is intended to secure the gas supply necessary for the Polish economy and individual consumers.
The company’s priority is to strengthen the domestic transmission system so as to build capabilities for efficient distribution of gas acquired from new sources and supply routes across the country.
The company has implemented one of the most important infrastructural projects in Poland – the Baltic Pipe, which consists in the construction of a bidirectional offshore gas pipeline connecting Poland and Denmark as well as the expansion of the local transmission network and three gas compressor stations.
The construction of gas interconnections with Lithuania and Slovakia and the engineering of onshore gas pipelines that will connect the planned FSRU terminal in the Gulf of Gdańsk with the national transmission system are also underway.
Interconnections with Lithuania and Slovakia have been completed. GAZ-SYSTEM is currently in the process of the engineering of onshore gas pipelines that will connect the planned FSRU terminal in the Gulf of Gdańsk with the national transmission system. At the same time, the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście is being expanded, which will increase its regasification capacity from the current 5 bcm to 8.3 bcm.
Further projects are in prospect, such as the Damasławek Underground Gas Storage Facility, which will provide additional hydrocarbon storage capacity and improve the operating flexibility of the Polish transmission system.
