For most part, the gas pipeline route runs along the existing high-pressure gas pipelines, through the the Silesian Voivodeship in following municipalities: Tworóg, Tarnowskie Góry, Miasteczko Śląskie, Ożarowice, Mierzęcice, Siewierz and Dąbrowa Górnicza.

The investment is expected to improve the safety and reliability of natural gas transmission in the region, and – on a national scale – increased transmission capacity and the degree of diversification of natural gas sources. In addition, the Tworóg – Tworzeń gas pipeline makes part of the North-South Gas Corridor.
Local communities will gain an important benefit of the revenue from the property tax to be paid annually by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. at the rate of 2% of the value of the pipeline section located in the territory of a given commune.

The project was implemented on the basis of the provisions of the Act of 24 April 2009 on investments in regasification terminal for liquefied natural gas in Świnoujście (for consolidated text see Journal of Laws of 2021, item 1836).
The project has been granted funding from the European Union under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme 2014-2020.
The maximum amount of co-financing under the agreement reached nearly 219 million PLN.
