Construction process

Machines are laying the gas pipeline
HOW IS THE GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTED?

  1. GEODETIC STAKEOUT OF THE ROUTE AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE SURVEY:
  • specification of the exact route of the pipeline axis, designation of the construction strip by means of poles and potential places of collisions with roads, railway lines, etc;
  • performance of rescue tests for the surveyed archaeological sites within the construction strip;
  • explosive ordnance survey of the gas pipeline route in terms of unexploded ordnances.
  1. REAAOVAL OF PLANTS AND TOPSOIL:
  • removal of trees, shrubs and any other unidentified objects from the construction strip, which hinder the performance of works;
  • collection and securing of topsoil;
  • leveling the land to facilitate the operation of construction machines, local construction of temporary roads.
  1. ARRANGEAAENT OF PIPES ALONG THE ROUTE:
  • transport of pipes previously stored on storage yards and unloading along the gas pipeline construction strip.
  1. WELDING OF PIPES AND EXCAVATION WORKS:
  • welding of previously prepared pipes by joining them into sections;
  • inspection and insulation of welds to ensure pipę connections of the highest quality;
  • execution of an excavation to enable the laying of the pipeline at the designed depth, allowing it to be backfilled with at least 1.2 m of soil counting from the top of the pipeline, and with an appropriately higher layer in areas provided with drainage
  1. LAYING OF THE GAS PIPELINE IN THE EXCAVATION AND PERFORMANCE OF TESTS:
  • laying of the pipeline in the excavation using the so-called side boom cranes and joining the individual pipeline sections together;
  • as-built survey of the pipeline;
  • partial backfilling of the laid gas pipeline, reconstruction of drainage systems and covering with native soil previously produced from the excavation.
  1. RESTORATION OF THE ORIGINAL CONDITION OF THE SITE:
  • restoration of the initial topography;
  • restoration of the original soil layer - laying of topsoil;
  • reclamation of the area occupied for the implementation of the project.
  1. DESIGNATION OF THE GAS PIPELINE ROUTE:
  • designation with posts, which will be the only trace of the pipeline routing between the subsequent above-ground structures (stop and pressure relief assemblies and gas transmission stations).
  1. PERFORMANCE OF TECHNICAL ACCEPTANCE AND COMMISSIONING:
  • obtaining of the administrative decision on the use permit and official handover of the gas pipeline for operation.
