LNG Terminal - technical data
The LNG Terminal in Świnoujście is an installation designed for:
- process storage in LNG tanks of the total capacity of 320 000 m3 LNG,
- LNG regasification with the nominal annual capacity of 6,2 bcm,
- reloading LNG onto truck cisterns at two dedicated reloading platforms.
Current regasification capacity of the LNG Terminal amounting to 6,2 bcm/year will satisfy approx. a third of Poland’s market demand, while the further development of infrastructure is undergoing.
The LNG Terminal Operator will publish the annual schedule of maintenance works which may affect the operating conditions of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście, possibly restricting the provision of services such as regasification, loading tank trucks, LNG unloading and process storage.
Annual schedule of works in the Świnoujscie LNG Terminal for 2024

Allocations of regasification capacity
Polskie LNG S.A., under the open season procedure conducted between 23th June 2009 and 12th February 2010, allocated the volume of 370.000. Nm3/h LNG regasification capacity to Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A. (PGNiG SA)
On 17 October 2017, as a result of the fulfillment of the last of the conditions, Annex No. 1 to the Regasification Agreement between Polskie LNG S.A. and PGNiG S.A. entered into force in their entirety. Pursuant to the Agreement, PGNiG S.A. contracted the entire regasification capacity of the Terminal, this is 570,000. Nm3 / hour.
The Agreement shall remain in force until the end of 2034.
Regasification method of the LNG
Regasification of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the LNG Terminal installation in Świnoujście consists in returning the fuel supplied in liquefied form into gaseous form by means of heating the liquefied fuel.
Regasification process is performed using so-called gas-heated submerged combustion vaporisers (SCV) in which the chilled LNG is heated. LNG is vaporised using water heated with boil-off gas, which then releases the heat onto the submerged tubes filled with flowing LNG.
The LNG consumption rate for the regasification process (so-called LCR in the Tariff for the LNG regasification service) is currently established at the level of 1,5 % of the quantity of LNG unloaded in the Świnoujście Terminal.
Quality parameters of LNG delivered to the Terminal shall meet the criteria indicated in the table below:
Component | Light | Heavy |
---|---|---|
C1 (%mol) | 95,4 | 87 |
C2 (%mol) | 3,2 | 8,37 |
C3 (%mol) | 0 | 3 |
iC4+nC4 (%mol) | 0 | 1,2 |
nC5 (%mol) | 0 | 0,23 |
N2 (%mol) | 1,4 | 0,2 |
The quantity of LNG expressed in energy units (kWh) is established for reference conditions as per applicable ISO standard and Transmission Network Code (TNC), i.e.:
- volume of gas at 0ºC (273.15 K)
- gross calorific value at the temperature 25ºC (298.15 K),
- pressure equal to ambient pressure of 101.325 kPa.
The content of other components in regasified LNG, such as hydrogen sulfide, total sulfur, mercaptan sulfur and mercury, must comply with the provisions of TNC.
The LNG Terminal Operator shall ensure that the Gaseous Fuel generated in the LNG regasification process meets the criteria set forth in the TNC, in particular:
- Gross Calorific Value ranging from 11.177 kWh/m3 (40.237 MJ/m3) to 12.618 kWh/ m3 (45.424 MJ/m3)
Conversion factors for recalculating the quantity of natural gas expressed in volumetric units (Nm3) and the quantity of liquefied natural gas (LNG) expressed in volumetric units (m3LNG) into gas quantity expressed in energy units (kWh) calculated as an arithmetic mean of the heat of combustion of light and heavy gas according to LNG quality parameters applicable at the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście, assume the following values:
- kWh/Nm3 = 11,897
- MWh/m3LNG= 6,86
