Surveys
GAZ-SYSTEM, in fulfilling its obligations as a transmission system operator pursuant to the provisions of the Transmission Network Code and Article 16(2) of the Energy Law, is obliged to prepare cyclical transmission system development plans with a view to satisfying the current and future demand for gaseous fuels of both existing and future transmission system users.
The survey is the initial stage prior to the actual consultations to produce the National Ten-Year Development Plan. All entities interested in using natural gas, or already using it, have the opportunity to present their plans by filling in the questionnaire. The survey is also addressed to those entities that do not plan to get connected to the gas network – such information is also very valuable from our company's point of view.
The power and heat generation sectors, as well as the entire industrial sector in Poland, are facing numerous challenges, and gas will be a transitional energy carrier for the next 30-40 years, supporting the drive towards a zero-emission economy. That is why it is so important for us to be able to find out information about the current and projected use of natural gas in businesses – it will make it much easier for us to effectively plan the development of the gas transmission network.
According to the latest update, the current survey is in an electronic form and can be found at: analizy.gaz-system.pl.
Once on the site, review the instructions for completing the questionnaire.
By logging into the analizy.gaz-system.pl website, the user may also gain access to a special module operating in the form of financial models, by means of which the user may calculate the costs and benefits resulting from the switching in their heat and/or electric power generation plant from e.g. coal (or other fuel) to natural gas:
- the simple model allows calculations to be performed with a minimum of data input - for example, replacing one coal-fired boiler with an engine(s);
- the advanced model allows for in-depth analysis that takes into account the exact situation of the entity considering fuel switching and relies on market and location specific data for that entity. It also enables the introduction of various solutions based on gas-steam units, gas boilers and their combinations, extended by e.g. energy storage. The model also provides an opportunity to input specific financial conditions applicable to the entity.
