Connection in the SGT
The connection of entities to the SGT is conducted by GAZ-SYSTEM as the Transit Gas Pipeline System Operator - GAZ-SYSTEM, in cooperation with the SGT Owner, i.e. EuRoPol GAZ S.A..
In order to maximise the use of the existing infrastructure of the SGT, it is assumed as a basic principle that, in the first instance, connections are made to existing physical entry points or physical exit points. If it is not possible to connect at an existing physical point, GAZ-SYSTEM, provided that technical and economic conditions exist, shall determine the connection conditions for a new physical point.

The process of connection of an entity to the SGT includes the following steps:
- submission of an application for the definition of connection conditions and formal assessment of the application,
- analysis of the technical and economic conditions for connection to the SGT conducted by GAZ-SYSTEM,
- cooperation with the SGT Owner,
- definition by GAZ-SYSTEM of the connection conditions,
- implementation of the connection.
More information on the process and the conditions for connection to the SGT is contained in the Transmission Network Code for the Polish Section of the Yamal-Europe Transit Gas Pipeline System (SGT Network Code).
The detailed terms and conditions for connection of entities to the SGT are set forth in the Energy Law Act and the executive orders thereto.

The submitted application shall be examined taking into account the available transmission capacity, the currently provided transmission service and the concluded connection agreements.
The application review process includes:
The application review process includes:
- assessment of the correctness of the application filling in and completeness of the attached documents, and determination of the place of connection of the equipment, installation or network. In the event that the application does not meet the formal requirements, GAZ-SYSTEM shall, within seven (7) days of the date of receipt of the application, notify the applicant of the need to complete the application or submit missing documents within a period not shorter than twenty-one (21) days. - definition of the connection conditions within the timeframe resulting from the provisions of the law.
The connection conditions specify in particular:
- the place of connection of the facilities, installation or network and their technical parameters
- the scope of necessary changes to the SGT related to the connection to the SGT,
- the technical parameters of the connection to the SGT,
- group and sub-group of the gaseous fuel,
- the minimum and maximum supply and off-take pressures of the gaseous fuel,
- the requirements for the metering system and its location,
- the connection power,
- description of the gaseous fuel delivery and off-take characteristics, including minimum and maximum hourly and annual volumes of gas delivery and off-take, expressed in units of volume (m3) and energy (kWh),
- place of delivery and offtake of gaseous fuel,
- the point of demarcation of the ownership of the SGT and the installations, equipment or networks of the connected entity,
- requirements for the equipment of the gas station or the metering system, the type of this system, as well as the telemetry and the corrosion protection,
- expected date of commencement of the off-take of the gaseous fuel, and volumes of gaseous fuel to be off-taken, expressed in units of volume (m3) and energy (kWh),
- purpose of the use of the gaseous fuel.
