Gas Quality Measurement

The Gas Quality Measurement Laboratory performs its tasks in two locations in Pogórska Wola near Tarnów and at the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście. The Laboratory located in Pogórska Wola is accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation for compliance with the international and European standard PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02 as a Testing Laboratory – Accreditation Certificate No. AB 1228.

One of the primary objectives and responsibilities of the Gas Quality Measurement Laboratory is to ensure proper metrological supervision over process gas chromatographs within GAZ-SYSTEM in order to confirm the correctness of energy parameter calculations and to test a wide range of parameters determining the quality of gaseous fuel in the transmission network. An important area of the laboratory activity at the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście is the performance of settlement analyses during the unloading of LNG tankers and during the loading of LNG into tanker trucks.

The Gas Quality Measurement Laboratory ensures the delivery of reliable, credible, and useful test results and the full protection of the confidentiality of information and proprietary rights of the customers.

Services

The principal services of the Gas Quality Measurement Laboratory are:
  • Gas sampling
  • Basic and extended natural gas composition testing
  • Water and hydrocarbon dew point measurements
  • Analytical control of process gas chromatographs
  • Measurements in the operating environment: noise, general and local mechanical vibration
  • Testing of water dew point hygrometers

  • Methane emission measurements
  • Analysis of water and sewage (determination of density, suspended solids, nitrates, nitrites, phosphates, chlorides, total chlorine, free chlorine, pH, COD, BOD, mineral oil index, TOC)

Accreditation

The Accreditation is a formal recognition of the competence and therefore provides customers with a means of identifying and selecting reliable services that meet their needs.

Therefore, in our Laboratory we have implemented, maintain and improve a management system in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02 recognised by the Polish Centre for Accreditation. The Laboratory has been accredited by the PCA since November 2010.

Equipment

The Gas Quality Measurement Laboratory carries out research both at the laboratory site and in the field.

The laboratory premises in Pogórska Wola and Świnoujście are air-conditioned to ensure and maintain stable working conditions during tests. Environmental conditions at workplaces, both in the laboratory and in the field, are monitored by thermohygrobarometers.

It is the policy of the Laboratory for Gas Quality Measurements to have the measurement equipment calibrated by accredited calibration laboratories or the Central Office of Measures.
