EIC Local Issuing Office

The EIC codes (Energy Identification Coding Scheme) are used in the European electricity and gas market to identify entities, entry or exit points and market areas within the electronic information exchange. EIC codes are assigned by the Central Issuing Office, i.e. by ENTSO-E, in cooperation with Local Issuing Offices operating in individual countries.

Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM operates the Local Issuing Office which obtained a identification number 53, which means that all codes assigned by this office start with number 53.

The code assigned to an entity by any Issuing Office (Central or Local) is valid and can be used to identify the entity in the electronic exchange of information within the international electricity and gas market.

The Local Issuing Office operated by GAZ-SYSTEM assigns EIC codes for:
  • entities operating on the Polish gas market,
  • entry points and exit points which are not interconnections,
  • market areas,
  • sources,
  • locations.
To apply for an EIC, please complete the application form and send an editable version and a signed scan to the Local Issuing Office e-mail address

If the application form is signed with an electronic signature there is no need to send editable version then.
