Transmission of gaseous fuels

Licence for the transmission of gaseous fuels, decisions on designation as the gas transmission system operator on the territory of the Republic of Poland and the gas transmission system operator for the section of the Yamal - Western Europe gas pipeline located in the territory of the Republic of Poland

Background

  • On 30 June 2004 r.
    The President of the Energy Regulatory Office granted the legal predecessor of Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. (PGNiG-Przesył sp. z o.o.) a licence for the transmission and distribution of gas for the years 2004 - 2014, and on 23 August 2010 extended the licence for the period until 31 December 2030, defining it as a licence for the transmission of gaseous fuels.

  • On 1 July 2005 r.
    The President of the Energy Regulatory Office issued a decision by virtue of which Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM Sp. z o.o. (previously PGNiG - Przesył Sp. z o.o.) obtained the status of gas transmission system operator for a period of one year.

  • On 18 September 2006 r.
    The Extraordinary Shareholder's Meeting transformed the limited liability company (Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM Sp. z o.o.) into a joint stock company (Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.). Consequently the company could have been designated as the gas transmission system operator for a longer period. The President of Energy Regulatory Office took the relevant decision on 18 December 2006 and designated GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. as the gas transmission system operator until 1 July 2014.

  • On 13 October 2010 r.
    GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. was designated as the gas transmission system operator on the territory of the Republic of Poland until 31 December 2030.

  • On 17 November 2010 r.
    The President of the Energy Regulatory Office issued a decision designating GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. as the gas transmission system operator in respect of the the Yamal - Western Europe gas pipeline section located in the territory of the Republic of Poland, until 31 December 2025.

  • On 6 December 2018 r.
    The President of the Energy Regulatory Office issued a decision on the extension of the GAZ-SYSTEM’s license for the transmission of gaseous fuels, and the decision to extend the period of designation of the Company as the operator of the gas transmission system on the territory of the Republic of Poland. Thereby, the existing decisions valid until 2030 have been extended until 6 December 2068.

 

Liquefaction and regasification of liquefied natural gas: LNG Terminal.

Licence for liquefaction and regasification of liquefied natural gas, decision on designation as a LNG Terminal operator.

Background

  • On 11 May 2016, the President of the ERO granted a licence for the liquefaction of natural gas and regasification of liquefied natural gas at the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście to Polskie LNG S.A. On the same day, Polskie LNG S.A. was also designated by the President of the ERO as the operator of the LNG Terminal. Both the licence and the term of operatorship will remain in effect until 31 December 2030.
  • On 31 March 2021, a merger took place between Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. (as the acquiring company) and Polskie LNG S.A. (as the acquired company) (merger by acquisition - in accordance with Article 492 § 1 item 1 of the CCC). As a result, permits, licences and relieves that had been granted to the acquired company passed on GAZ-SYSTEM as the acquiring company.
  • On 10 June 2021, the President of the ERO amended the licence for natural gas liquefaction and regasification of liquefied natural gas at the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście and the decision to designate the LNG Terminal operator - by indicating Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. as the addressee of the aforementioned decisions.
