The President of the Energy Regulatory Office has approved the Transmission Network Code (TNC)
On 15 July 2024, the President of the ERO issued a decision approving the amended TNC (rev. 29). The regulation enters into force on 01 August 2024 at 06:00 AM.
- modifies the procedure for submitting applications for connection to the network – now solely on-line via the Information Exchange System (IES),
- addresses the matters related to biomethane and its injection into the transmission system,
- disallows the use of Venturi gas meters for custody transfer measurement and approves the use of mass meters,
- adds specific detail to the provisions concerning exit point groups,
- introduces two new types of agreements: upgrading and optimisation agreements and pre-connection agreements,
- supplements the provisions concerning termination of pressure reduction service,
- updates the provisions concerning imbalance settlement and charges for compulsory stock mobilisation on days when the compulsory stock was used,
- withdraws conditionally firm interruptible capacity from the product portfolio.
The amendments approved by the President of the ERO result from the alignment of the TNC with the requirements of:
- Regulation on the detailed conditions for the operation of the gas system,
- Regulation on the detailed rules for determination and calculation of tariffs and settlements in gas trade,
- Act on Renewable Energy Sources,
- Regulation on the method of settlements and balancing of the gas transmission system in the period of mobilisation of compulsory stock of natural gas and in the period of implementation of gas curtailment measures,
The new solutions proposed by GAZ-SYSTEM are also rooted in the experiences gained in the course of the application of previous TNC, as well as the comments submitted by the transmission system users during draft TNC consultations.
