Construction works to connect the transmission systems of Poland and Slovakia are completed. The pipeline is currently being filled with gas and functionality tests are ongoing. The first test transmission of natural gas towards Poland and to Slovakia will commence in early June. Final acceptance of the interconnector will take place in late Q2 or early Q3 2022.

The bi-directional gas connection built in cooperation by GAZ-SYSTEM and EUSTREAM, with a total length of approx. 164 km has already been constructed and testing is currently underway, prior to the commissioning of the entire interconnector. On 26 May, the tests related to reaching maximum gas pressure were successfully completed on Polish section of the pipeline.

The newly built transmission infrastructure connects the gas hub in Strachocina in Poland with the compressor station in Veľké Kapušany, Slovakia. Owing to this connection, it will be possible to import 5.7 bcm of gas per year into Poland and send 4.7 bcm per year towards Slovakia.
