The Szczecin-Gdańsk Gas Pipeline obtained a permission for exploitation.

The 114.5 km long Słupsk-Wiczlino section, along with Reszki gas hub, represents the fourth stage of the gas pipeline construction. The construction of the Szczecin-Gdańsk gas pipeline is a crucial element of the Polish gas transmission system. The pipeline will enable the increased amount of gas to be transmitted and will ensure gas supplies to the areas previously lacking gas infrastructure. It will also liase with other gas infrastructure facilities, e.g. Cavern Underground Gas Storeroom [Kawernowy Podziemny Magazyn Gazu, KPMG] Kosakowo and the Włocławek-Gdynia gas pipeline, built in 2011. The investment of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. was implemented on the basis of the provisions of the Act of 24 April 2009 on investments in the liquefied natural gas regasification terminal in Świnoujście.
Total expenditures on the gas pipeline construction amounted to PLN 784 millions, with more than 186 millions subsided by the EU’s Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment. ‘We have been granted all administrative decisions needed and one more high pressure pipeline has been built. The investment programme, which has been constantly implemented by the company since 2009, resulted in approx. 1200 square km of gas pipelines and new capacities of the Polish transmission system. It is worth noting that all the elements of the investment progamme are inherently important parts of the European integrity and energy security policy’, says Sławomir Śliwiński, Member of the GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. Management Board. 2015-2023 investment programme
The next stage of development of the Polish transmission system will be the construction of new gas pipelines as part of the North-South gas corridor supported by the European Union; this will allow for the full integration of the transmission infrastructure in this part of Europe. For that purpose, in 2015-2023, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is planning to build a total of approximately 2000 km of new pipelines in western, southern and eastern parts of Poland. During the same time span, it is also planned to construct new pipeline connections with other EU states (e.g. Poland - Czech Republic, Poland - Slovakia and Poland - Lithuania).
