Performance of strategic gas pipelines – GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. has signed the agreement for the collection of pipes and valves

Photo of the article On 22 February 2011, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. signed an agreement with Bureau Veritas Polska Sp. z o.o. concerning the collection of pipes and valves for the construction of strategic gas pipelines.

The Contractor was selected under public procurement proceedings.  The agreement was concluded for a term of 48 months and its value amounts to 12 mln PLN.

The Bureau Veritas Polska Company will perform the service consisting of collecting the pipes and valves from the production site in order to obtain the required inspection certificate 3.2 acc. to PN-EN 10204 and in the location of supply to the construction site stipulated by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. Bureau Veritas Polska Sp. z o.o. shall prepare the inspection certificates entailing: an assessment of the overall technical conditions of the object of supply, confirmation of conformity of the object of supply with the order in the scope of the correct amount and technical specifications, the date of delivery, quality certificates and other documents required for the collection of the order.

On 18 February 2011, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. signed three-year framework agreements in the scope of supply of valves (check and gate valves) with three Contractors selected by an open procurement procedure. They include: the consortium of companies comprising of: BROEN-ZAWGAZ Sp. z .o.o.; Franz Schuck GmbH (Germany): consortium of companies comprising: D.E.F.T. Polska Marian Buroń; MSA a.s. (Czech Republic) and GAZOMET Sp. z o.o.

On 26 January 2011, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. signed two-year framework agreements for the supply of pipes 700 and 800 mm diameter. A consortium of companies were selected as the suppliers under public procurement proceedings, comprising of the following:  FERRUM S.A. (consortium leader); STEELTUBES Sp. z o.o.; UNISET Rury Stalowe-Steel Pipes Janusz Gaczyński; and U.S. STEEL KOSICE s.r.o., (Slovakia), consortium of companies comprising of: IZOSTAL S.A. (Consortium leader); IMPEXRUR S.A.;  ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Ostrava a.s. (Czech Republic), Borusan Mannesmann Boru Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.(Turkey) and Mitsui & Co. Deutschland GmbH (Germany).

GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is planning to build over 1,000 km of new gas transmission pipelines by 2014.  The most important will be constructed in North Western and Central Poland (Szczecin-Lwówek, Świnoujście–Szczecin, Szczecin–Gdańsk, Włocławek–Gdynia, Rembelszczyzna–Gustorzyn, and Gustorzyn–Odolanów), as well as in Lower Silesia. The last section of the Włocławek – Gdynia pipeline is currently under construction. The remaining gas pipelines in North Western and Central Poland are on the stage of preparing the design documentation, encompassing the civil engineering design along obtaining the building permits. The design documentation will be complete in 2011. The construction of the gas pipelines is being co-financed by the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment: the Włocławek–Gdynia pipeline (31 mln PLN), the Jeleniów-Dziwiszów pipeline (65.1 mln PLN), the Szczecin-Gdańsk pipeline (226.9 mln PLN), the Polkowice-Żary pipeline (25.6 mln PLN), the Rembelszczyzna-Gustorzyn pipeline (121.55 mln PLN), and theGustorzyn-Odolanów pipeline (175.5 mln PLN). The Świnoujście – Szczecin gas pipelines is also being co-financed by the EU European Energy Programme for Recovery.

GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is also fulfilling the construction of a new interconnector between Poland and the Czech Republic.

The Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is a strategic, wholly-owned State Treasury Company responsible for the transmission of natural gas throughout Poland. The Company manages assets worth in excess of 5 bn PLN comprised mainly of elements of the transmission system, e.g. more than 9.7 thousand km of high pressure pipelines, 14 compressor stations, 56 hubs and 970 exit points.
