COMMERCIAL SUMMARY OF JULY: four new companies benefit from a transmission contract with GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.

Photo of the article In July GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. signed four new contracts for the provision of gas transmission services. As a result, the current number of entities benefiting from the transmission service has increased to 106.

One of the new clients for gas transmission is Cryogas M&T Poland S.A., which specializes in the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The company offers its services to distributors and end customers with regasification installations, who use LNG in production processes, the generation of heat and electricity, as well as for powering vehicles.
Observing the trends and the development of the natural gas market in Poland and given the company’s current business and potential, Cryogas has decided to increase its offering to include the supply of natural gas to small and medium-sized enterprises in the TPA formula. The contract with GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. will enable us to implement further stages of the company’s development plan regarding sales of natural gas from the network - emphasizes Jarosław Patyk, Vice President of the Management Board of Cryogas M&T Poland S.A.

Almost 4 TWh of fuel was transmitted in July 2015 as a result of transactions on the gas exchange operated by TGE S.A., which represents an increase of more than 3.15 TWh compared to the same period of last year. Over 11.56 TWh of gas was transmitted as part of the transactions on the OTC market, which is an almost identical volume to the amount of gaseous fuel transmitted in July 2014 (11.47 TWh).

At the turn of July and August, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. held public consultations for the market players on the content of the new draft Transmission Network Code.  Consultations were also held from 6 to 19 August on the National Ten-Year Gas Transmission Network Development Plan for 2016–2025. The expectations and comments on the draft documents provided in the consultations are currently being analysed. The next stage of development of the updated version of the Transmission Network Code and the National Ten-Year Gas Transmission Network Development Plan for 2016–2025 will be the presentation of the draft documents to the President of the Energy Regulatory Office for agreement.

Consultations are also ongoing on the draft amendments to the Transmission Network Code of the Polish Section of the Yamal-Europe Transit Gas Pipeline System. The proposed amendments follow from the necessity to adapt the TNC TGPS to the changing legal requirements (the implementation of the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 312/2014 of 26 March 2014 establishing a Network Code on Gas Balancing of Transmission Networks, as well as Commission Regulation (EU) No. 984/2013 of 14 October 2013 establishing a Network Code on Capacity Allocation Mechanisms in Gas Transmission Systems and supplementing Regulation (EC) No. 715/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council). Comments on the draft document can be submitted up to 7 September of this year. More information about the consultations being held is available here.

In addition, on 31 July 2007, the promoters of the project of the Poland–Lithuania interconnector, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. and the Lithuanian transmission system operator, AB Amber Grid, decided to launch the Non-Binding Phase of the Open Season Procedure. The main objective of the Open Season Procedure for the Poland–Lithuania interconnector is to determine the level of market interest, confirmed by a long-term gas pipeline capacity reservation, as well as to determine the optimal method of financing the project. Market players may submit Applications for transmission capacity in accordance with the principles of the Non-Binding Open Season Procedure Rules at the Poland-Lithuania entry/exit point up to 31 August 2015, at 16.00 hours (CET).
