In the period 2014-2021, the European Commission granted EU funding of approx. PLN 5 billion to GAZ-SYSTEM. These funds were granted for infrastructure investments related to the implementation of the strategy for diversification of gas supply sources to Poland and improvement of energy security. The funding received comes from two European Union programmes - Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment and Connecting Europe Facility.

Baltic Pipe, gas interconnectors with Lithuania and Slovakia, LNG Terminal in Świnoujście and North-South Gas Corridor pipelines are the key elements of the country's energy security. These projects are implemented with significant financial support from the European Union. Expansion of the domestic gas infrastructure and construction of new interconnection points enable diversification of the directions and sources of natural gas supplies not only to Poland, but also to the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe and to the Baltic countries.

The Company is actively working within the EU to raise new funds for further expansion of the transmission infrastructure. Last year, GAZ-SYSTEM signed an agreement with the Oil and Gas Institute - National Research Institute for co-financing of the investment project "Gustorzyn-Wronów Gas Pipeline - I STAGE Gustorzyn-Leśniewice" with the maximum amount of over PLN 137 million.

One of the key projects of GAZ-SYSTEM, included in the current PCI list, is the construction of the FSRU Terminal in the Gulf of Gdansk - this project may significantly contribute to the currently planned decoupling of the EU from gas supplies from Russia.

GAZ-SYSTEM has already settled over PLN 3 billion of the allocated PLN 5 billion in EU support for the completed investments. The funds obtained from the European Union constitute a significant part of the investment financing of GAZ-SYSTEM.
