GAZ-SYSTEM selects contractor for construction of tie-in gas pipeline to Dolna Odra Power Plant

The company signed a contract for the construction of approx. 63 km gas pipeline between Przywodzie and Dolna Odra plant, and a regulating and metering station. Construction works are scheduled to start in March/April this year.
“The Dolna Odra Power Plant will use natural gas supplied to Poland via the expanded LNG Terminal in Świnoujście and the Baltic Pipe which is nearing completion. Thanks to these strategic investments, GAZ-SYSTEM will provide access to a secure and stable energy source for the production of electricity to meet the needs of more than 1.5 million inhabitants and numerous industrial plants in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship and its vicinity. The completion of the construction works is scheduled for the end of Q3 / beginning of Q4 2023” said Artur Zawartko, Vice-President of GAZ-SYSTEM.
The tie-in pipeline will enable the supply to the Dolna Odra Power Plant owned by PGE GiEK S.A. (current name: PGE Gryfino 2050 sp. z o.o.) with natural gas delivered to the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście and with gas from the Norwegian Shelf to be transported via the pipelines being developed as part of the Baltic Pipe Project. The connection of the power plant to the GAZ-SYSTEM’s transmission infrastructure will enable the production of electricity from low-emission gaseous fuel, which will have a positive impact on the environment and improve air quality in the region.
The contractor for the construction works is PORR S.A. based in Warsaw.
