GAZ-SYSTEM obtained environmental decisions for all three onshore gas pipelines planned under the FSRU programme.

The pipelines designed as part of the FSRU program are intended to provide the possibility of distributing additional gas volumes from the floating FSRU terminal, which will be moored off Gdańsk. The approximately 35 km-long Kolnik-Gdańsk gas pipeline will run across the Pomeranian province, as will the approximately 86 km-long Gardeja - Kolnik gas pipeline. Further, approximately 128 km-long Gustorzyn - Gardeja gas pipeline is planned in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie province.

- All onshore pipelines of the FSRU program have successfully met the requirements of  environmental procedures, thus the first important milestone has been reached. We are now working to obtain further administrative approvals and start construction as soon as possible," - said Tomasz Stępień, President of GAZ-SYSTEM.

The implementation progress on Kolnik - Gdańsk gas pipeline is more considerable, as the company is in the process of applying for a construction permit. In the case of the Gardeja - Kolnik and Gustorzyn - Gardeja gas pipelines, the next stage in the permitting process will be the submission of applications for location decisions.

The FSRU programme, alongside the Baltic Pipe programme and the expansion of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujscie, is an important element of the so-called Northern Gateway. The main objective of these measures is to ensure Poland's energy security by creating new entry points into the national transmission system and increasing the capacity to transport natural gas to consumers throughout Poland. This investment project is also of great importance for the development of a competitive natural gas market in the CEE region; therefore, it was included in the European Union's fourth list of Projects of Common Interest (PCI).
