GAZ-SYSTEM: Gas in the Polish transmission system flows as ordered
GAZ-SYSTEM, as a transmission system operator, confirms that the performance of the transmission infrastructure managed by the company is uninterrupted despite the suspension of natural gas supplies from the east. The transmission network is fed from other directions on an ongoing basis. Gas is delivered to customers according to their current demand.
Existing entrance points to the system, such as the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście and connections to Germany and the Czech Republic enable the gas system to be offset without supplies from the east. In addition, a cross-border connection to Lithuania and the LNG terminal in Klaipeda will be launched on 1 May, which will further enhance the security of gas supplies to Polish customers. Owing to the investment projects completed by GAZ-SYSTEM, in particular the expansion of the LNG receiving terminal and the construction of the Baltic Pipe pipeline and interconnectors, the Polish gas transmission system is now immune to disruptions in gas supply from the east.
The company also reports that it has not stopped filling gas storage facilities and that the replenishment level is around 80%, which is an additional safeguard in the current market situation.
