PGNiG has received a letter from Gazprom announcing the complete suspension of supplies under the Yamal contract. PGNiG and GAZ-SYSTEM report that currently gas is delivered to customers in accordance with their demand. Companies are monitoring the situation and are prepared for different scenarios.

On 26 April, Gazprom informed PGNiG of its intention to discontinue all supplies under the Yamal contract as at the beginning of the contract day on 27 April.

GAZ-SYSTEM and PGNiG are in constant contact and are monitoring the situation regarding the cessation of supplies by Gazprom on an ongoing basis.

At present, the transmission infrastructure managed by GAZ-SYSTEM is operated without disturbances. The national transmission system is supplied with fuel from other inputs to the gas system, underground gas storage facilities are filled and natural gas transmission to end-users is carried out according to current demand.

Owing to the diversification strategy of natural gas fuel supply sources implemented by the government, PGNiG is prepared to receive gas from various directions through gas interconnectors on the western and southern borders and the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście, which is gradually increasing the number of methane carriers handled. The balance is supplemented by domestic natural gas production and fuel stocks stored in underground gas storage facilities. At present, the stock is around 80 per cent full, which is significantly higher than in the same period in previous years.

PGNiG and GAZ-SYSTEM are monitoring the situation and will keep the market informed.
